Today was the first day of drama for Brendan. Show 2. It begins again. He is in his absolute glory. The show this time is The Lion King. He is convinced he should be “young Simba.” Like in a way that I think he will convince others around him that this is his part. And if not he will be difficult for whomever is young Simba. If there is such a part. It may be one child who plays Simba for the whole show.  But in his mind, it makes sense that there be two parts and young Simba is who he should be.

It really won’t matter what part he gets because he will get to wear a costume and be on stage. It is where he is happiest. He loves to perform.  Writing that sentence doesn’t feel like it truly expresses how in his element he is.

What is nice about this group is that the kids are all different ages and from all different schools. Brendan loves this part almost as much as performing. He sees kids from the program in other settings and he loves knowing people. No idea where that comes from.

Hopefully it won’t be too long until we know what part he is.  Until then he will continue to belt out I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.  How perfect.
